There is a cost to ignoring a boundary violation.

This concept is illustrated through visuals of receipts and invoices that frame the lasting impact of child abuse as a debt that can never be paid.

These receipts are designed to be distributed alongside everyday receipts in local restaurants, grocery stores, and other familiar spaces.

Instead of a traditional mailer, I created a bill addressed to a household that highlights common grooming behaviors and the long-term effects they can lead to. Designed for parents and adults, the piece aims to grab attention and create enough discomfort to inspire action.

Large posters illustrate the long-term effects of abuse, each featuring a receipt, a childhood photo of the “individual,” and the ways they had to to cope with what happened to them. These posters are designed for bulletin boards in community halls, grocery stores, churches, and sports centers.
